So sorry to hear this news. The Machar holds a special place in our hearts, and was a wonderful place to spend time. RIP Jim, and thanks for the memories.
Graham, just heard about your dad. I’ll always appreciate everything he did for me when i worked there – he always tried to keep me on the straight and narrow when i was a young boy a long way from home. Still the best job I’ve ever had All our thoughts and prayers to you and the rest of the family, from Steven and Tracy Kirkwood.
Very sad to hear the news about your Dad. Jim very much took me under his wing when I worked at the Bar and I will always be grateful for the help and advice he gave me during those great times.
Our thought are with you all at this most difficult time.
Looks to be somewhere I’ll be visiting when I’m next in Aberdeen. I’ve been given your details by a friend in Aberdeen and shall be adding you onto my first Scottish page on my website, now that I’m expanding it to Scotland.
Look forward to my visit. Cheers!
Great wee pub – great “local” atmosphere – great staff.
Always made to feel welcome!
That’s why it’s been my local for seven years!
Oh, and great real ale!
For all those that new him, Jim Alexander, formerly of the St Machar Bar, passed away earlier today after a long illness.
Funeral details to follow.
